What this site collects, and what it doesn't.
Short version: no advertising, no tracking pixels, no data sold to anyone. This site counts its own visits, but only if you say yes. Your email address is stored only if you ask for the monthly update, and you can have it deleted by replying to any email.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Yu, an individual creator publishing as @ai.yu0278 and Koh Samui, Honestly, based in Koh Samui, Thailand. For anything on this page, including deletion requests, write to aiyu0278@gmail.com.
Website analytics
This site measures its own traffic rather than handing that job to an advertising company. If you agree, a randomly generated identifier is stored in your browser and sent — together with the page you are on and the link that brought you here — to a server on this same domain. It is a random string. It carries no name, no email address and no IP address, it is never used for advertising, and it is never shared with or sold to anyone.
Why: this site is the web home of a TikTok account. The only question being asked is which videos bring people who actually read something and download the guide — and that cannot be answered without recognising the same visit across two pages.
Legal basis: your consent, given by clicking Allow in the banner. Decline and nothing is stored and nothing is sent; the only thing kept is the fact that you declined, so that you are not asked again on every page.
How long: event records are kept for 14 months and then deleted.
To withdraw consent: clear this site's data in your browser settings. The banner will appear again on your next visit, and you can decline it.
Cloudflare Web Analytics also runs alongside this. That one is cookieless: it sets nothing on your device, records aggregate figures only, and cannot be linked back to an individual visitor.
The email list
If you enter your email address to receive the monthly island update, that address — and nothing else — is stored with EmailOctopus, which sends the emails on my behalf.
- What is collected: your email address, the date you subscribed, and standard email engagement data such as whether a message was opened or a link clicked.
- Why: to send you the monthly update you asked for. Nothing else.
- Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.
- How long: until you unsubscribe or ask to be deleted. After that the address is removed, apart from a minimal record needed to make sure you are not accidentally re-added.
Your address is never sold, rented, shared with other creators, or used for advertising.
The free guide
The PDF guide downloads without an email address and without a form. Downloading it records nothing about you beyond the analytics described above, and only if you allowed those.
Links to other sites
Some pages link out to third-party sites — YouTube webcam streams, TikTok, hotel and restaurant listings. Those streams are deliberately linked rather than embedded, so nothing from them loads on this site or sets anything on your device unless you choose to click through. Once you do, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Who else processes your data
- Cloudflare — hosting, domain, analytics, and the database holding this site's own event records. Privacy policy

Both operate internationally, so data may be processed outside the country you are reading this from, including in the United States and the United Kingdom. Both maintain standard contractual clauses covering these transfers.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you the right to:
- ask what data is held about you, and receive a copy
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted
- withdraw consent at any time — the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email does this instantly
- object to processing, or ask that it be restricted
- receive your data in a portable format

Children
This site is intended for adults planning travel. It is not directed at children, and the email list is not knowingly offered to anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or why, the date below changes with it, and anyone on the email list is told in the next update.
