What this site collects, and what it doesn't.
Short version: no cookies, no tracking pixels, no data sold to anyone. Your email address is stored only if you ask for the monthly update, and you can have it deleted by replying to any email.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Yu, an individual creator publishing as @ai.yu0278 and Koh Samui, Honestly, based in Koh Samui, Thailand. For anything on this page, including deletion requests, write to aiyu0278@gmail.com.
Website analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it sets nothing on your device and does not follow you across other websites. It records aggregate figures only — page views, referring site, browser, operating system, country, and page load speed. None of it identifies you, and none of it can be linked back to an individual visitor.
This is why you are not being asked to click through a cookie banner. There are no cookies to consent to.
The email list
If you enter your email address to receive the monthly island update, that address — and nothing else — is stored with EmailOctopus, which sends the emails on my behalf.
- What is collected: your email address, the date you subscribed, and standard email engagement data such as whether a message was opened or a link clicked.
- Why: to send you the monthly update you asked for. Nothing else.
- Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.
- How long: until you unsubscribe or ask to be deleted. After that the address is removed, apart from a minimal record needed to make sure you are not accidentally re-added.
Your address is never sold, rented, shared with other creators, or used for advertising.
The free guide
The PDF guide downloads without an email address and without a form. Downloading it collects nothing about you beyond the anonymous page view described above.
Links to other sites
Some pages link out to third-party sites — YouTube webcam streams, TikTok, hotel and restaurant listings. Those streams are deliberately linked rather than embedded, so nothing from them loads on this site or sets anything on your device unless you choose to click through. Once you do, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Who else processes your data
- Cloudflare — hosting, domain, and analytics. Privacy policy

Both operate internationally, so data may be processed outside the country you are reading this from, including in the United States and the United Kingdom. Both maintain standard contractual clauses covering these transfers.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you the right to:
- ask what data is held about you, and receive a copy
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted
- withdraw consent at any time — the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email does this instantly
- object to processing, or ask that it be restricted
- receive your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these, email aiyu0278@gmail.com. I will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority if you think something has been handled badly.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning travel. It is not directed at children, and the email list is not knowingly offered to anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or why, the date below changes with it, and anyone on the email list is told in the next update.
